In terms of students' education and management, School of Statistics adheres to the fundamental task of cultivating students with morality and student-centered education, and strives to cultivate builders and successors of socialism who are morally, intellectually, physically, aesthetically and labor-working in an all-round way. The School has constantly improved students' comprehensive quality, supervise the growth and success of students through extensive and colorful academic competitions, social practice, innovation and entrepreneurship, cultural and artistic activities.

SWUFE Statistical Software Application and Statistical Modeling Contest have been held for 14 consecutive years since 2003, affecting universities in and around the province. Launched in 2006, the Western Dream Targeted Funding Program has been carried out for 12 consecutive years, and was awarded the "7th Volunteer Service Project Award" by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League. In the past three years, students in School of Statistics have achieved great results in the National Mathematical Contest in Modeling for college students and the American Mathematical Contest in Modeling for college students, more than 150 students have won national and provincial awards. The student entrepreneurship project has won the Silver Award of "Internet Plus" College Student Entrepreneurship Competition in Sichuan Province for two consecutive years. The Youth League Branch of Statistics Class 2005 and the Youth League Branch of Financial Statistics and Risk Management Experimental Class 2014 were successively awarded the honorary title of "May 4th Red Flag Youth League Branch" of Sichuan Province.
