Department of Data Science (newly-established)

General Introduction:

Department of Data Science is responsible for talent training and the undergraduate major construction of data science and big data technology, the graduate major construction of economic big data analysis. It is also in charge of the construction and maintenance of the Joint Laboratory of Data Science and Business Intelligence, as well as Big data experiment platform.

Department of Data Science currently has 7 faculty members; they are all PhDs or postdocs who are graduated from famous universities at home or abroad, such as Harvard University, Cambridge University, Imperial College London, University of Florida, Peking University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Southwest Jiaotong University etc.

Faculties in Department of Data Science mainly focus on the theoretical research and practical application in the fields of data science, big data technology and artificial intelligence, which includes ultra-high dimensional data, machine learning, data mining, complex networks, computer vision and natural language processing. The department has conducted in-depth cooperation with a number of government departments, financial institutions, enterprises and institutions regarding to technology development and talent training.

The Department now has 7 faculty and staff members, in which there are 1 professor, 4 associate professors and 2 lecturers.
