General Introduction:

Department of Economic Statistics undertakes teaching and research tasks such as major construction, talent training and scientific research. Specialized courses currently provided by Department of Economic Statistics include: National Economic Statistics, Monetary and Financial Statistics, Applied Statistical Multivariate Statistical Analysis, Applied Time Series Analysis, Business Data Mining, Financial Statistics and Risk Management, Securities and Futures Investment Analysis, Statistical Analysis and Software Application etc.

Department of Economic Statistics has made fruitful achievements in financial statistics and quantitative analysis, resources, environment, social and livelihood sustainable development statistics, market-oriented business statistics and other research fields. Among these research areas, financial statistics has become the most distinctive research field which formed by the long-term construction of the “Statistics” discipline, it has a history of more than 20 years. With the advantage of being affiliated with the People’s Bank of China, the Department took the lead in the research of financial statistics and other fields in China, systematically set up financial statistics courses, cultivated a large number of outstanding talents that active in financial area in China, and made contributions to the development of financial statistics and talent training. In recent years, Department of Economic Statistics has undertaken 7 national projects and has won provincial awards for 4 times.

Department of Economic Statistics is committed to cultivate compound statistical talents within professional skills, innovative consciousness and high creative ability. It has kept close cooperative relation with overseas prestigious universities, enterprises, institutions and financial department, in order to expand the channels of talent training, cultivate students’ ability to acquire new knowledge independently and strengthen the ability to adapt to the society.

The department now has 13 faculty members, in which there are 3 professors, 9 associate professors and 1 lecturer.
